Energy: How to Use It for Growth
Quantum physicists keep peering into the nature of reality. The deeper they look, the clearer one truth becomes: everything is energy at the most fundamental level. That reframes growth itself. Using energy for growth is simply a question of how we direct it.
We tend to treat energy as a mood to chase. Some days we have it; other days it feels lost. But matter, information, and consciousness are just different faces of one thing. Energy, then, is not a feeling. It is a resource you can aim. In the brain and body, using energy for growth means placing that limited voltage where it compounds.
This is the terrain Robin Harwell works in every day. Grounded in neuroplasticity and neurogenesis, she uses tools that help the brain rewire itself. She does not simply drill a skill. Her real subject is energy for growth. What follows gathers the physics behind it, four practical tools, and a note on when to call for help.
Reality is merely an illusion, although a very persistent one.— Albert Einstein
The quantum world is stranger than it looks
Modern physics keeps arriving at the same startling conclusion. At the smallest scales, the solid world dissolves into pulses of energy and probability. Energy is not continuous. It arrives in small, discrete units called quanta, so the world is grainy at its foundation. Elementary particles behave like particles and like waves at once — the famous wave–particle duality. Stranger yet, we cannot know a particle’s position and momentum at the same time. Observation itself has limits.
Superposition goes further still. Electrons and other “non-particle particles” can occupy hundreds of places at once. They resolve into a single location only when measured.
The observer belongs in the equation. In the Copenhagen interpretation, reality takes shape only when observation meets the quantum field. Human consciousness meets levels of existence that are pure waves of energy.
Everything is connected on some level
Once two particles have “kissed,” they become lifelong pen pals. Change the spin state of one entangled electron, and its partner instantly shifts the opposite way. It happens every time, even a million light-years apart. That can only work if everything is energetically connected.
The same behavior shows up in living cells. In one much-replicated experiment, a batch of algae is grown, then split in two. Half stays home; half is whisked to a distant lab. Stimulate the first group with a low-voltage current, and the far group reacts at the exact same instant. Reverse the roles, and it still holds.
If you wish to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.— Nikola Tesla
Bottom line: matter and energy, information and consciousness are just different ways of looking at the same thing.
Four tools for directing energy for growth
If the brain can rewire itself, the goal is not to teach one skill. It is to support the brain’s own capacity to change. Each of these four practices channels energy for growth through touch, rhythm, or frequency. Treat them as wide bands of attention, not gadgets.
Cortices Tap
An energy-medicine technique from Dr. John Veltheim’s BodyTalk System. Specific hand placements and gentle tapping calm the nervous system and reduce stress. The rhythm also helps balance the brain’s two hemispheres. Often that is enough to reclaim a decision stress had confiscated.
Touch · The KI Method
Developed by Glenn King, PhD, the KI Method® (TKM®) helps the body heal naturally. It restores proper conductivity of the body’s bioelectrical systems — the “energetics” long understood in Eastern medicine. You place gentle palm contact at key junctions and slow the exhale. The aim is not force but permission.
Percussion
From the Latin percussio, “to beat.” Percussion instruments — the human body included — drive rhythm, tempo, and texture. That beat reintroduces organized sensation through tactile, vestibular, and auditory channels. Think of it as knocking on the door of proprioception.
Gamma 40 Hz
Gamma sensory stimulation uses rhythmic light, sound, or vibration at 40 Hz. The goal is to synchronize brain waves — the gamma rhythm that weakens in Alzheimer’s disease. Cognitive neuroscience has linked it to memory and clearance. Treat it as optional garnish, paired with intention.
Where emotion lives in the body
In the TKM framework, each finger and region of the hand maps to an organ system. Each system also carries an emotion. Holding these points is one gentle way to direct energy for growth in the body.
Hands-on holds for urgent moments
Always activate the emergency technique first — and in any true medical emergency, call 911.
- Bleeding & bruisingRight palm on the body (over the wound if possible); left palm on top of the right at a 90° angle, forming an X. Hold at least 5 minutes or until bleeding stops.
- PoisoningReverse the Stop-Bleeding hands — left palm on the body, right palm over the left. Hold a minimum of 5 minutes.
- SeizuresHold the thumbs; if another person can help, have them hold the big toes. Continue for 20 minutes after the seizure stops.
- ChokingPress thumbs into the “High 1s” — two-thirds up from the knee toward the groin, along the inseam of the leg.
- Asthma attacksOne hand on the 3rd thoracic vertebra; the other holds either or both middle fingers.
- BurnsCup the calves in your palms, fingers pointed toward the heart. Hold a minimum of 20 minutes.
- Heart Attack — call 911 firstRight fingers on the 5th thoracic vertebra; the other hand holds the left little finger.
Gamma stimulation and the aging brain
This is another route to energy for growth. It is known as GENUS — Gamma ENtrainment Using Sensory stimulation. The method uses flickering light and rhythmic audio at 40 Hz to induce gamma brain waves. Those waves tend to weaken in Alzheimer’s disease. Researchers are studying three mechanisms. Entrainment uses light and audio clicks to induce 40 Hz oscillations. Cellular clearance activates microglia and boosts fluid flow to clear amyloid and tau. Structural preservation may, in early trials, reduce white-matter atrophy and myelin loss.
Where the evidence stands. In a 2023 MIT study, Alzheimer’s-model mice got 40 Hz whole-body vibration one hour a day. They cleared toxic proteins, preserved synaptic connections, and improved motor function. Small human trials use at-home light and sound devices. Early reports call the approach safe, well tolerated, and promising for sleep and memory. Human research is still ongoing.
