What is the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)?
A National program established by USDA to make sure children in daycare settings receive sound nutrition. The program is over 20 years old!
What are the Benefits?
- The obvious benefit is the reimbursement. Meals and snacks served are counted each month. Your center is then reimbursed for each meal or snack served at a set rate.
- You’ll find a new resource for menu ideas, recipes, and creative ways to introduce nutrition to your daycare children.
- Your staff learns more about nutrition and sanitation.
- Parents will appreciate knowing you serve meals that meet USDA requirements to their children!
What do I have to do?
- You must be licensed for daycare.
- Keep a record of the meals you serve on forms we provide.
- Send in your records to Nutriservice each month.

Do I have to be enrolled in a Title XX program to participate?
Not any more. New regulations have allowed more centers to participate.

Nutriservice uses the online claim system called CenterPilot.
This system lets you enter your enrollment online, and submit your menus and your meal counts online.
Daycare Center Food Program FAQ
Can a daycare center join the CACFP through a sponsor?
Yes. Centers can participate under a sponsoring organization like Nutriservice instead of administering the program independently - the sponsor handles the state application, staff training, menu guidance, and monthly claims.
How much are centers reimbursed?
Centers are reimbursed per meal by each child's eligibility category. For July 2026 through June 2027: up to $2.54 per breakfast, $4.76 per lunch or supper, and $1.30 per snack at the free rate, plus the separate value of USDA Foods for lunch and supper.
Which meals can be claimed?
Breakfast, lunch, supper, and snacks that meet the USDA CACFP meal patterns, within the program limits per child per day.
What paperwork does my center keep?
Enrollment and income eligibility forms for families, plus menus, attendance, and meal counts. Nutriservice trains your staff and reviews your records so claims go through clean.
What does sponsorship cost?
Nutriservice does not charge centers an enrollment fee - sponsor administration is funded by the program.
